Three arrested after joy ride

Three teenagers have been arrested after the theft of an SUV from outside a George Town home.

The 911 Emergency Communications Centre received a call around 11am Tuesday from an individual reporting that their Geo Tracker had been stolen outside their home on Templeton Street.

The caller stated he had seen the Geo traveling towards Smith Road. Police carried out checks in the area and found that the vehicle had flipped onto its roof in the vicinity of Lincoln Drive.

Police said the suspects fled from the vehicle after the crash. They were chased down by officers and arrested. Each teen was arrested on suspicion of taking and driving away a vehicle without the owners consent.

They remained in police custody at press time.
