Things are looking up for Automotive Art Cayman, which stole the spotlight at the 2009 Regional Automotive Art Franchise Conference, taking top prizes and most awards in competition with other franchisees in the Caribbean region.
The conference, held in St. John’s, Antigua, focused on all activities that have taken place within the Automotive Art franchisees in 2008 and 2009, and looked at all future projects for the company.
At the annual awards banquet, Automotive Art Cayman out ranked all the other franchisees to take the following awards:
2008 Standard Store Performance Award
2008 Franchise of the Year Award
2009 Standard Store Performance Award
2009 Franchise of the Year Award
These achievements were notable as Cayman is the first single franchise to win the Franchise of the Year award in successive years, as well as win the Standard Store Performance Award for three straight years.
Additionally, they were achieved in the midst of a global recession by a young team of entrepreneurs, brothers Tom and Wayne Kirkconnell. The Cayman store showed resilience to the market environment by committing to growth and diversification while most businesses were cutting back. The store focussed on customer service, continued expansion of products and services all while understanding the market needs to post outstanding sales performances for both 2008 and 2009.
‘Cayman has showed an unwavering commitment to our franchise standards while continuously working to develop and acquire additional resources to ensure the future success of the business,’ said Anita DaCosta, human resources training and development manager.
While accepting the awards, Managing Director, Wayne Kirkconnell, spoke proudly on the high level of training and the effort his staff had put in and all the hard work they continuously do in their roles within the company.
‘These awards belong to my team,’ he said.
‘They are for them to enjoy because it was their relentless effort in the face of the economic challenges that have allowed Automotive Art Cayman to be the best. We look forward to the challenges ahead and hope to defend our title in 2010.’ .
