Caymanian attorney called to the Bar

Sonia Fay Bush was admitted to the Bar last week after a motion for her acceptance was moved by Senior Attorney at Mourant Du Feu & Jeune Hector Robinson.

In his remarks, Mr. Robinson said he was extremely pleased to present an individual as accomplished and diligent as Bush.

‘She is always seeking new information and is most diligent in all matters,’ remarked Robinson, who added that his colleague was, ‘a fit and proper person.’

The attorney emphasised her previous experience in the financial services sector and cited Bush’s accomplishments, which include a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in International Finance and Business, as well an MBA/Masters of Science in Finance.

She received her Law Degree at the Cayman Islands Law School, and served her articles with Mourant, in addition to completing the Professionals Practice Course.

Bush will serve as a Trust and Estate Practitioner and will be dealing with commercial litigation, trust and intellectual property at Mourant.

In accepting Sonia Fay Bush’s application, The Honourable Justice Charles Quin said it gave him great pleasure to do so, adding that the show of well-wishers in the gallery was an indication that Bush had the support unit that was an essential part of continued success. He then warmly welcomed the attorney to the Bar.

In her acceptance speech Miss Bush thanked the judge for accepting the motion for her admission to the Cayman Islands Bar. She also praised her husband, children and mother for their patience and prayers, whilst affirming her dedication to the practice of law.

‘I am determined to serve with integrity and dignity and I intend to continually seek guidance and counsel,’ she said.
