The annual summer football camp in Bodden Town scored big with campers, as almost 100 children of all ages attended.
Visiting the campers at the Haig Bodden field, Minister for Youth and Sport Mark Scotland said: ‘I am glad to see so many coming out to play and learn.
‘One of my ministry’s goals is to offer parents a choice of positive and productive recreational activities for their children. It’s good to see that so many are taking advantage of this public service.’
The Bodden Town football camp is part of a larger summer camp programme supported by the ministry to give parents ‘affordable, healthy and wholesome activities in which to enrol their kids during the summer’, Scotland said.
This year the ministry has again partnered with a number of non-governmental organisations, and Scotland specifically thanked the sponsors of the Bodden Town camp.
‘This joint venture with the Cayman Islands Scholastic Football Academy, Lookout Gardens, Thompson Realty/Century 21, ARCP and APS Security has clearly been a success this summer, and we hope to expand on our effort next year.’
