PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) – Five people have been killed in a shooting spree inside a bar in Trinidad and Tobago.
Police say two gunmen stormed a birthday party with about 50 guests early Sunday morning and appeared to shoot at random. Five people in their teens and 20s were killed and two others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Police superintendent Joseph Edwards says investigators on the twin-island Caribbean nation are pursuing a few leads but have not yet uncovered a motive.
The Trinidad and Tobago Express newspaper reported Monday that one of the victims, Ray James, had gotten into an argument with gang members hours before he was killed. The shooting took place in Curepe, a town east of the capital, Port-of-Spain.
