Olympic swimmers Shaune and Brett Fraser had another brilliant year in the pool and fittingly got rewarded for their excellence.

The brothers are students at the University of Florida and at their annual Gator Splash awards night both were honoured.

Shaune, 21, was awarded the Skip Foster trophy as the Most Valuable Male swimmer for the 2008-2009 swim season.

Shaune was also given a special performance award recognising his two 2009 NCAA titles this season.

Brett was awarded the Donald Gibb award for the walk-on athlete who has performed above and beyond expectations.

In addition both were recognised as All-American Scholars on the basis of their performance in both the pool and classroom.

To be selected to the All-American team, swimmers must qualify for the NCAA championship meet and achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Both are back in training and preparing for their upcoming collegiate swim season where Shaune is now a senior and in his last year of collegiate eligibility and Brett enters his junior year.
