Home invaded in East End

Royal Cayman Islands Police said two men were hospitalized Tuesday night after being assaulted by three masked robbers who forced themselves into a house on Austin Conolly Drive, East End.

At approximately 9:50pm the 911 Communications Centre received a call from one of the victims in the attack. He told emergency call-takers that three masked men, carrying handguns and dressed in dark clothing, had entered their residence and injured two people.

Police investigations established that the three men had entered the house after knocking on the front door. Police said the suspects proceeded to assault both residents by hitting them on the head with a firearm.

After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, police said the offenders escaped via a rear door.

Both victims were transported to hospital where they received treatment for their head injuries.

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department are looking into this incident and are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of Austin Conolly Drive, East End, at around 10:00pm last evening, who may have seen anything to please come forward.
