Reward offered for gun suspect

Royal Cayman Islands Police are now offering a reward of CI $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of escaped prisoner Dainian Cecil Henry.

Additionally, Cayman Crime Stoppers has offered to pay US $1,000 for tips leading to Henry’s arrest and conviction.

Henry, 28, escaped custody from George Town Police Station Sunday, 25 October, at approximately 5:15pm.

Police said Henry made his escape by knocking aside a woman who was carrying a baby while entering the station and then ran off down Elgin Avenue in the direction of Immigration Department. Police pursued Henry, but he was not immediately apprehended.

Dainian is of medium to dark complexion; approximately 5′ 9”, heavy set at about 170lbs, low cut hair, and was last seen wearing a green t-shirt with yellow stripes and khaki shorts.

Henry had been in custody for firearm related matters and the public is advised to report any sightings of this individual immediately and strongly advised to not approach him directly.
