Caribbean Publishing Company, publishers of the Cayman Islands Yellow Pages, has undertaken two worthy causes to support our community.
The Estella Scott-Roberts Foundation and the newly formed Yellow Pages Junior Golf Camp will equally benefit from the 18 hole corporate golf outing at one of the finest links style golf courses in the Caribbean.
The Yellow Pages Open will be held at the North Sound Golf Club on 12 February next year.
The Estella Scott-Roberts Foundation has just reached the one year anniversary of its inception after the tragic death of one the country’s most outspoken advocates for gender equality and freedom from violence for all.
The foundation aims to continue to address the social issues that Estella so passionately supported. Her friends and former colleagues at LIME and Caribbean Publishing Company see the Yellow Pages Open as a way to further her vision within the community.
The Yellow Pages Junior Golf Camp is a fresh opportunity that Cayman Islands Yellow Pages has created to breathe more life into the junior golf community here.
Together with Kevin Mumford, Director of Golf at the North Sound Club and national team head coach, the intention is to create an opportunity for four to seven year olds to learn the great game and everything it has to offer.
‘Further to the goals of both charities, the Cayman Islands Yellow Pages sees this initiative as a way to inspire life lessons of respect, honour, etiquette, decision-making and confidence,’ said Mark MacFee, Executive Vice President of Caribbean Publishing Company.
The Yellow Pages Open will be a great opportunity for the corporate community to both raise funds for charity and promote their businesses.
Hole sponsorship is offered as a creative outlet to showcase staff and new initiatives as well as to raise additional funds for the above mentioned charities.
Awards will be given for the most unique hole sponsors and for the most funds raised. An 8am and 1pm shotgun start will allow for 40 teams of four golfers to compete and have fun for two great causes. Prizes will be donated by the local business community.
