Wet Breeze but still fun

The Breeze Fusion 3k run may have been a washout last Saturday but not even the effects of Tropical Storm Ida could keep 50 or so athletes away.

They came out to support a good cause in the teeming rain to raise money for two worthy causes.

This year’s chosen beneficiaries were the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and the Lion’s Club of Tropical Gardens ‘Reading is Cool Programme’.

It was the third running of the Breeze Fusion run/walk and the inevitable winner was David Walker 10 minutes 24 seconds with Carl Grant second and Marlon Crowe third.

First female to finish was a thoroughly drenched Beth Schreader with Deean Foster second and Tracey Walker, Dave’s wife, third.

Other notable winners were Benedict Lowe (under 12), Carl Grant (12-19), Derek Larner (40-59) and Jim Munroe (over 60)

There were a number of walkers too including Eziethamae Bodden who always completes the course, rain or shine.
