A tropical disturbance, Potential Tropical Cyclone Twenty-two, is passing east of the Cayman Islands on Friday.

The Cayman Islands National Weather Service in its latest bulletin at 4pm, said the system is expected to move further away from the Cayman Islands over the next few days, putting the system over the western Atlantic Ocean by Saturday.

No impacts from this system are expected for the Cayman Islands.

Showers are expected to continue across the Cayman area for the next 24 hours in association with the interaction between an upper level trough over the Yucatan Peninsula and a broad surface trough over the western Caribbean.
