This evening sees registration for the ‘Fishing for Community Service’ tournament.
From 6:30pm to 8pm residents can sign up either at Abacus restaurant in Camana Bay in Grand or at the Alexandria hotel in Cayman Brac.
A number of registration fees are involved. Each competing boat with up to four anglers sees a CI$400 entry fee. Any additional angler pays CI$150. Any junior angler who is aged 14 or younger on the day of the tournament pays a CI$25 fee.
The tournament is being put on by the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman and Lions Club of Grand Cayman. Fishing takes place on Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac Saturday and Sunday 7am-4pm.
Camana Bay and the Alexandria hotel serve as the weigh stations, which will assess catches from 4pm to roughly 6pm.
Cash prizes will be on offer for adult and junior anglers.
