The Cayman Islands National Under-17 Girls team drew 2-2 with the Dominican Republic in a World Cup qualifier playoff game on Saturday.
It was played at the Estadio Panamericano San Cristobal in Santo Domingo.
Cayman’s Jettena Bodden netted the first goal in the first minute and Shanice Monteith in the 15th made it 2-0.
Diana E Santana Tavarez scored in the 40th for Dominican Republic. In the 59th minute they drew level with a goal from Lizzy Sanchez Guzman.
Cayman keeper Emily Kelly took a knock early in the game and had to go to hospital as a precaution.
The return leg on Saturday at the TE McField Sports Complex in George Town. Both teams were placed second in their respective groups in the first stage of the tournament.
