It was a fitting conclusion to local 20/20 cricket with large crowds supporting the tournament over the seven weeks.

Batting first, Barbados never got the start required to build a competitive score with only their leading batsman Pearson Best 45 not out and Charles Greaves 22 making any significant contributions.

Guyana’s Kevin Bazil turned in another Man of the Match performance taking 3 wickets for 11 runs and aided by twin brother Kevon and captain Saheed Mohamed with 2 wickets each kept Barbados to a small total of 101 runs.

It was business as usual for Guyana as their batting success was led by Kevin Bazil 43, Alistair Ifill 26 and Mohamed 21n.o. Guyana won by 6 wickets. Kevin Bazil for his brilliant performances throughout the tournament was named Man of the Series.

Jamaica defeated World Stars by 64 runs and took third place in the first match. Jamaica captain Wayne Cato deserves credit for his astute bowling changes that reaped rewards every time.

Franklin Hinds was Jamaica’s top scorer with 45 and fully deserved the Man of the Match award.
