Tigers swiftly hit

Tigers Football Club may be having
one of their best seasons ever but they are in trouble with the Cayman Islands
Football Association for fielding three ineligible players.

The three players have played for
Tigers in the Premier League and Digicel Cup.

They failed to meet the
registration requirements during the January registration period.

Tigers have been given time by the
Executive Committee to comply but in the meantime the teams they played in
their last three matches have been awarded 3-0 victories.

The matches in question are two
Cayman Premier League fixtures against Bodden Town Football Club on 17 January,
and Scholars International Sports on 31 January, and the CIFA Digicel Cup
semi-final second leg against George Town Sports Club on 24 January which Tigers
won 5-1.

As a result of the loss of the
second leg match against George Town, the aggregate score of the CIFA Digicel
Cup semi-final is now 4-1 in George Town’s favour. They will now compete in the
CIFA Digicel Cup final against Bodden Town on Ash Wednesday 17 February at the
Truman Bodden Sports Complex.
