John Gray Memorial Church is welcoming a new
Minister this year.
The West Bay charge of The United Church in Jamaica
and The Cayman Islands, John Gray Memorial Church, welcomes the Reverend Tara
Tyme as its new minister.
Rev. Tyme took up the charge on 10 January and
was formally inducted by the Cayman Council at a service held at John Gray
Memorial Church on Sunday evening, 24 January.
Rev. Tyme, a young dynamic minister, hails from
Jamaica. She was there, until December 2009, serving at the Mount Olivet Charge,
which comprises of three congregations.
She takes up the vacancy left by the Rev. Dr.
Yvette Noble-Bloomfield, who returned to Jamaica along with her family including
husband and local educator Denver Bloomfield in August 2009 after serving the
John Gray Memorial congregation and the West Bay community for seven years.
Last Sunday ,Rev. Tyme led communion at the West
Bay church. It was her second time performing communion for the John Gray congregation.
The John Gray Memorial Church celebrated its
100th anniversary in 2008 under the theme “A Century of Christian
Service” and looks forward to a future of continued dynamic Christian
service to the community under Rev. Tyme’s leadership.
