Everyone needs a bit of off-island
travel now and then. For Millicent Webb-Ebanks, her next trip to Fort
Lauderdale will be free, thanks to Longitude Travel Services and cayCompass.com.
Patrizia Amante, managing director
of Longitude Travel Services in Cayman, decided to introduce the company to the
public by running the competition, as it would be a great way to introduce not
only the company but also its services to the Cayman community.
“We are a new company and we want
everybody to know about us. We thought that starting something in the community
would be the best way,” said Ms Amante.
Longitude Travel Services, together
with the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove and the Caymanian Compass, offered a weekend
away for two people including flights and a stay at the luxury hotel. The
competition ran for four weeks and nearly 900 people entered on cayCompass.com.
Millicent Webb-Ebanks answered all four questions correctly and was selected
through a random draw.
For Mrs. Webb-Ebanks, the
competition win came about through a bit of teamwork.
“My mother forwarded me the link
and my husband also forwarded me the link and I just got lucky by listening to
their e-mail and signing up for it,” she said.
“I’m very excited. Sometimes we
need to get off the Island and I’m looking forward to it. I love the location.”
Ms Amante was very happy with the
outcome of the competition.
“It has given us a lot of publicity
and I’m so happy that a local person who works here and lives here won because
that makes us more a company for the community,” she said.
