Three appear in court for murder

Defendants declare their innocence

Three men charged after a fatal
shooting last month appeared in Summary
Court late Thursday and told Magistrate Grace
Donalds they were innocent of all charges.

Robert Aaron Crawford, 17; Jose
Guadalupe Sanchez, 23; and Roger Deward Bush, 35 are accused of murdering
Alrick Ricardo Peddie at an address on Willie Farrington Drive, West Bay, on 24
March.

They are also jointly charged with
possession of an unlicensed firearm at the same location on the same date.

Crown Counsel Nicole Petit said the
murder was committed with the firearm.

She objected to bail, relying on
the strength of the evidence against the three defendants, including several
witnesses.

Each defendant spoke for himself, but
agreed with what the others said.  All indicated
they had nothing to do with the incident. “They have innocent people in jail
and murderers out on the road,” one asserted. They accused police of not doing
their job properly.

They also complained of not being
able to contact their attorney.

The senior police officer present
gave an undertaking to contact the attorney named.

Magistrate Grace Donalds remanded
the men to Northward Prison, to be brought back to court on Thursday, 8 April.

All three defendants are of West Bay
addresses.
