Burger King sizzling as Buzz prepare to sting

The WestTel five-a-side playoffs
are in full swing this week after one of the best and most competitive league
seasons so far at King’s Sports Centre.

Burger King were the Division 1
league champs, unbeaten in 12 games, winning 11 and drawing the other. Centre
Spot were second with last year’s playoff champions third.

Bonaca Boys played Scotiabank in
the first round of the playoffs last night and Tru Ballers played WestTel.

In Division 2 Appleby and
Transformers had identical records of 10 wins and two losses.

Appleby were league champs on goal
difference, 33 compared to Transformers’ 27.

In the second round playoffs Old
Boys played HSBC last night. On Wednesday Transformers face Coconut Joe’s,
Appleby play Chilled and The Security Centre face Doghouse Devils.

CFP Buzz Crusaders were the only
other unbeaten team winning the league with 11 victories and one tie.

Buzz’s top scorer was Kris Pearson
with 17 goals, the same number as Doghouse Devils II’s Ian Lambert.

Buzz face PWC in the semi-finals of
the playoffs Tuesday night. In the other semis KPMG Blue Iguanas play Doghouse
Devils II on Thursday. The Division 3 championship game is next Tuesday.
