Titans stomped their way to top

The regular season games of the
Butterfield Co-ed flag football league came to an end last weekend and the
highly anticipated playoffs are set to kick off.

Playoff eligibility and seeding
were not determined until the final games of Friday night which left players
and fans eager for tonight’s games.

Leading the playoff charge is the
number one overall seed Samuel Young Titans of the battle tested north
division.

The remaining playoff contenders in
seed order are: 2. Hammerheads, 3. Ogier, 4. H2Only, 5. Big Daddy’s, 6. Maples,
7. Hurricanes, 8. Burger King, 9. Dog House and 10. Fidelity.

First round matchups feature:

Ogier vs. Fidelity

H2Only vs DogHouse

Big Daddy’s vs Burger King

Maples vs Hurricanes

Rounding out last week’s games:

Ogier edge Maples 21-20 in a nail
bitter.  Justin Wight was under the helm
for Ogier and put together a solid effort to secure the win.

He threw two touchdown passes, one
each to Brad Conolly and Rhys Ebanks and ran in another to account for all
three of Ogier touchdowns.

Maples had a chance to win it at
the end but ran out of time as Ogier held on to go 4-2 on the season and win
the south division. Richard Campbell threw three touchdown passes for Maples.

H2Only dominated Cayman Auto 42-6
in the second game of the night to claim the West division.

Kevin Solomon and Jordana Clarke
shared snaps for H2Only and both players picked apart Cayman Auto’s defence
accounting for six touchdown passes between them.

Will Peguero Jr was the recipient
of four TD passes while Perry Levy and Isatou Sey chipped in with one received
touchdown each.

For Cayman Auto, playoff chances
were riding on this game so it was quite evident that they were disappointed
with their effort. That said, it was a good experience for the up and coming
squad which many expect to make noise next year under the leadership of Robbie
Cribb.

In the third game of the night, the
Hurricanes breezed through NCB Homes 26-14.

Led by the husband and wife
combination of Doss and Kiesha Solomon, the Hurricanes offense appeared to be
too much for the NCB Homes defence. Doss threw three touchdown passes all of
them to Keisha which set the tone early for the Hurricanes.

Phil Brown chipped in with a touchdown
later on to seal the game. For NCB Homes, it was entertaining season as they
managed to get their feet wet in flag football.

With a few nice acquisitions next
year in addition to value experience gained this year the future appears
bright.

Other final scores for the night
were:

Titans defeated Dog House 21 – 12

Jet Nightclub defeated McAlpine 21
– 20

Burger King defeated Butterfield 25
– 14

Congrats to the Pizza Hut Players
of the Week: William Peguero Jr. of H2Only and Keisha Solomon of the
Hurricanes.

The action continues on Friday, starts
at 6:30pm at the T.E. McField Field Annexe.
