Appleby and Appleby Trust have both
been awarded the Investors in People Award for the second time after 2007.
Investors in People was developed
in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses and international organisations
and is the only internationally recognised standard which helps organisations improve
performance and realise business objectives, through developing the potential
of their employees.
The granting of the award followed
the independent evaluation by an external UK assessor.
“I am very pleased that Appleby
remains in the ranks of other prominent worldwide organisations by achieving
this standard,” said Huw Moses, managing partner of Appleby’s Cayman Office.
“Attaining and maintaining the
Investors in People standard is quite a challenge.”
He continued, “We often receive feedback from prospective employees that
the reason they want to work at Appleby is because one of our employees has
told them this is a great place to work. The overall result is, we hope,
a greater sense of belonging and ever-improving quality of life for all members
of the Appleby team.”
Appleby agreed six
years to participate in a pilot scheme to bring the Investors in People standard
to the Cayman Islands.
participation began with a period of self assessment to identify areas of
strength as well as areas of weakness followed by the drawing up of action plans
to address specific issues,” he added.
“We are very happy to have
maintained this standard and I am extremely proud of the steering committee who
have made this project their priority and endeavoured to make Appleby an even
better place to learn and grow as a result.”
