George Town shooting injures one

Police are investigating the
shooting of a 50-year-old man in the George Town area Monday night as an
attempted murder.

According to reports, about 11.00
pm last night the shooting victim was in his home in Cruz Lane, George Town,
when he heard a commotion outside.

Police said the man opened the door
of the house and was confronted by two suspects dressed in black.

One of the suspects had a firearm
and shot the 50-year-old in the shoulder.

The victim was taken to the Cayman
Islands Hospital where is in stable condition. However, police said they
expected the man will be taken overseas for further medical treatment.

is appealing for witnesses to the shooting, or anyone who may have any information
as to the motive for the attack, to contact George Town Criminal Investigation
