Home invasion in George Town

Royal Cayman Islands Police detectives
are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred early Monday near the George Town waterfront.

At about 2.41am police received a
call from the victim who stated that armed men had entered his home in the area
of Point Four Street off South
Church Street.

Police said two unknown men forced
their way into the house.

The victim told police that two men were
armed with what appeared to be a shotgun and a hand gun. No shots were fired
and no-one was injured as a result of the incident.

The victim and his son were held at
gunpoint and the suspects demanded money. Police said the suspects were handed
some cash and then fled the scene. No arrests were immediately reported.

Detective Sergeant Richard Scott of
George Town Criminal Investigation Department is appealing for anyone who may
have been in the area at the time and who witnessed anything out of the ordinary
to come forward. Those with information can call 949-4222 or Cayman Crime Stoppers at

  1. If it is the cash they want, then it is the cash that will be their bait! As soon as money runs dry, they will be after for some more, and someone will catch up with them soon and it won’t be pretty!

  2. This is EXACTLY why the right to bear arms in your own home is needed.

Sure, they have gotten thier gun, maybe not. But if the chance is there to defend yourself. Why not?

Or is it better live in fear of guns, and let people like that who break in your home, decide if you live or die, and you have nothing to say about it.

law abiding citizens don’t commit gun crimes. But arm them and sure has the sun rises, it will prevent them.
