Royal Cayman Islands Police
detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred early Monday
near the George Town waterfront.
At about 2.41am police received a
call from the victim who stated that armed men had entered his home in the area
of Point Four Street off South Church Street.
Police said two unknown men forced
they way into the house.
The victim stated that two men were
armed with what appeared to be a shotgun and a hand gun. No shots were fired
and no-one was injured as a result of the incident.
The victim and his son were held at
gunpoint and the suspects demanded money. Police said the suspects were handed
some cash and then fled the scene.
Detective Sergeant Richard Scott of
George Town Criminal Investigation Department is appealing for anyone who may
have been in the area at the time and witnessed anything out of the ordinary to
