Diabetes meetings to be held next week

The
Diabetic Support Group is organising two meetings on diabetes next week

The
first meeting, on how to stop complications of thyroid disease and diabetes,
will be held at the third floor meeting room of George Town Library on
Wednesday, 9 June; from 5.30pm to 7pm. Refreshments will be provided.

On
Thursday, 10 June, a meeting to outline the recent advances in the clinical
management of diabetes will be held at the Hibiscus Room at the Cayman Islands
Hospital from 5pm to 6pm. The Health Services Authority will offer one-hour
continuing medical education credits for health professionals.

Thursday’s
meeting will include a 15 to 20 minute presentation on in-patient management of
diabetes and hyperglycemia.

Donations
are welcome at both meetings.

The
speaker at both events will be Dr. Luz Marina Prieto, director of the
Endocrinology Ambulatory Clinic at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
