After much ado the bikini parade
finally gets going Thursday.
Tiki Beach Bar on Seven Mile Beach
in Grand Cayman will be the site for the parade at 5.30pm. Last minute
registration takes place at 5pm with a $15 sign-up fee. Proceeds go to the
Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association.
There will be many prizes during
the parade. Among the categories of note are most creative, retro and funky.
Prizes include a two-night stay at the Marriott Resort Grand Cayman including
breakfast, one year unlimited yoga pass at Bliss in the Marquee plaza worth
$1,200 and a sunset cruise donated by Red Sail Sports for up to 40
Parade organisers are trying to
break two world records. Last week locals received approval from Guinness World
Record to attempt the swimsuit and bikini marks.
For the swimsuit mark, men can wear
swim trunks or shorts as long as they are made of waterproof material. Ideally
participants will need to wear any commercially available swimsuit. Between the
one mile parade of bikinis and swimsuits, organisers are hoping to see 1,000
people hit Seven
That number would shatter the world
record of 323 people set on 23 May, 2010, by Procter and Gamble Japan K.K.
(Gillette Venus Team) at Venus Fort in Tokyo, Japan.

www.ciasa.ky and pre-registration is recommended.
All participants receive an
official wristband from the swimming association and a celebratory World Record
Cocktail created exclusively by Tortuga Rums. For an extra $35 people can be
presented a certificate.
