Police seek SUV in West Bay shooting

Police are trying to trace a gray
SUV in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Tyrone Burrell who was killed
in West Bay last Wednesday, 8 September.

Mr. Burrell was shot around 8pm in
Birch Tree Hill Road, West Bay. A postmortem on Saturday confirmed that his
death was caused by a gunshot wound, police said.

Detective Inspector Lauriston
Burton said he is looking for information about a charcoal gray SUV in the West
Bay area that night.

“The vehicle was reported to be
close to Domino’s Pizza, Garston Smith Drive, West Bay, around 9.34pm. I know
this is some considerable time after the shooting took place, but the actions
of the driver drew attention to the vehicle,” he said.

“The car and driver may not have
had any connection to the murder, but we need to speak to the driver as a
matter of urgency to establish if he/she had any involvement.”

He also renewed an appeal for
people with information about the killing to come forward.

Anyone with information is
requested to call the West Bay investigators on 949-3999; the RCIPS
confidential line on 949-7777; or Crime Stoppers confidential number 800-8477
