Lightning causes power outages

Power was restored to the area from
Secret Gardens to Walkers Road in South Sound on Wednesday after lightning
caused outages in the morning.

The first outage was recorded at
8:25am, according to Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC) spokesperson Neil

“As always, our teams worked hard
to restore the power as quickly as possible and in a safe and efficient
manner,” he said.  “CUC apologizes for the inconvenience the outage may
have caused.”

By 11am, the power was restored to
CUC customers in the area.

This was the second major power
outage in the past three days.

On Monday, an outage was recorded
in George Town that left CUC customers without power for several hours.
