Kids raise money for breast cancer

Children and staff from the First
Baptist Christian School and Wee Care held a Dress Down Pink Day during Breast
Cancer Awareness month, which is October’s designation.

First Baptist Christian School’s
students and staff incorporated a walk on 15 October and collected donations
totalling $365, which will go toward cancer research.

Many other fundraisers and
activities have been held around the island this month to bring awareness to
breast cancer and the need for early detection. The Lions Club of Tropical
Gardens held a series of district meetings and distributed vouchers for free
mammograms, which are urged for all women over age 40.
