Burger King face Logic test

Five-a-side football reaches its
championship stage next week with finals in all three divisions.

The King’s Sports Centre in George
Town will see mass celebrations and commiserations. First up is Monday’s
Division 2 final between the Transformers prison team and CFP Buzz Crusaders.
Transformers beat HSBC 3-1 in the semis and Buzz got the better of Doghouse
Devils for the first time in three attempts with a 3-0 victory. Dominique
Pearson smashed in 16 goals for Transformers in Division 1 so Buzz will be wary
of him. Their best marksmen are Dan Kelly, who scored 11 in the league and Dan
Stuber (6). Buzz were unbeaten Division 3 champs last year. They had an
indifferent start in the second division but settled well in the towards the
end of the league games.

On Wednesday 27 October the
Division 1 final is between Burger King and West Tel (Logic), the top two teams
in their league. Both only lost once all season in regular games but Burger
King scored heavier and finished with a goal difference of 43 compared to West
Tel’s 33. Cayman internationals Rene Carter and Mark Ebanks have sizzled for
Burger King as usual and are their top marksmen with 17 and 12 goals

West Tel also have top players who
have scored prolifically in Carlos Powery (15) and Richard Grant and Rolly
Bodden, both 13, so this game promises to be a tight, close fought affair. The
Division 3 championship game is on Thursday 28 October but the finalists hadn’t
been decided at the time of going to press.
