Man dies from injuries in June accident

A man who has been in hospital since being found badly injured at the side of the road in June has died.

About 3.20 a.m. on Sunday 27 June 2010, a 59-year-old man was found badly injured in  Eastern Avenue, George Town, close to the Cayman Shoe Shop. The man was lying on the sidewalk beside his bicycle.

The man was taken to George Town Hospital suffering from serious head injuries at the time. He has been kept in hospital since that date.

He died Thursday.

Officers suspected that the man had been the victim of a hit-and-run accident. However, no vehicle was ever traced, and no witnesses have come forward to assist in the enquiry.

Officers from the RCIPS Traffic Department are renewing their appeal for witnesses and anyone who has any information regarding the incident is asked to contact them on 946-6254.
