Speedy beavers find extra gear for High Rollers

The Budget Beavers and the High
Rollers have long been two of the best teams in local roller hockey. The fierce
rivals should prove that point on Tuesday.

Logic arena at King’s Sports Centre
sees the next chapter in the rivalry at 8pm. Budget have got off to their usual
fast start near the top of the league table. The usual stalwarts of the side
have all been consistent as top scorer Mark Missal is among the league leaders
in scoring while goalie Ryan Vanderwal has the best numbers.

The High Rollers are looking to
edge toward mid-season form after a slow start. Rob Seward and Darryl Hather
have steadied the team in the middle though the side needs more production from
the likes of Eric Mildenberger (last season’s top scorer) and wily winger Chris
Creighton. A key for the club in Tuesday’s match and for the rest of the season
is the play of ageless veteran Andrew Finlason in net. The numbers have been
okay so far and the High Rollers will need him to hold his own against what
should be a bevy of shots.

Aside from the Beavers-High Rollers
rivalry game, the other match on Tuesday sees the Barracudas take on the Cayman
Destination Management Services Islanders at 9pm. CDMS will look to get going
offensively behind dynamo Pete Holowchuk while containing a potent Barracudas
frontline featuring last year’s Cherry Cup finals hero Erik Lacasse,
Christopher Anton and Mark Thompson.
