The Agua versus Old Boys match in
the Heineken Sunday League at the weekend raised a few eyebrows for its
surprise element.
At the Ed Bush Stadium in West Bay
Agua’s predatory striker Massimo Tirotta latched on to a keeper’s mistake for
the first goal. Tirotta was heavily involved in the next goal when he was
tripped on the edge of the box and from the resulting penalty, hit his fourth
of the season. The game was sealed for Agua’s with three further goals from
Luciano De Riso, Erwin Kormos and Walter Fajette.
Earlier at Ed Bush it was one way
traffic as Harry’s FC defeated AC Lunetta 4-0 who as a result remain rooted to
the foot of the league table. Harry’s Boyd May, Craig Webster from the penalty
spot and Dave Hubble got the first half goals and Gribbon got the other after
the break. AC Lunetta’s Pillat was sent after two yellows.
Meanwhile at TE McField Annex
Sports Centre league new boys CML Claymores’ fine start to the season continued
following a spirited 1-0 victory against MC Devils. CML have Ben Marler to
thank for their three points as it was his early strike that separated the
teams at the end of the match, his third goal in as many games and kept his hot
streak going.
The remaining game of the weekend
was an entertaining 4-2 victory for Fire Pros Boca Juniors against
International Kickers. Kickers’ goals came via their strike partnership of
Cordel Andrande and Ricoh Brown with one goal each, but Fire Pros will be
grateful to Jemal and Mike Ebanks for their three points after they each
chipped in with two goals.
