GT celebrates heritage in style

The best of George Town, the centre of trade and
commerce, was showcased Monday at George Town Heritage Day.

Food vendors, live music, hand-made
products and local goods, and, of course, pirates contributed to the atmosphere.

Tourists and locals alike flocked
to Cardinall Avenue
to taste island cuisine from some of Cayman’s best cooks.

One of the main attractions was the
George Town
float, decorated with pictures of significant Caymanians who helped shape the
town centre into what it is today.

The day started off with a
traditional breakfast of fried fish, followed by activities and music. Miss
George Town Mahalia Seymour made an appearance along with the
George Town Dance Group, and the festivites ended with a fireworks display.
