Determined’ burglars take safe

A burglar or burglars broke through
a partition wall to swipe a safe from a West Bay
apartment complex over the weekend.

Shortly before 1am Sunday, the
security alarm was activated at the offices of Oceanside Plantation on North West Point Road.

When the office manager and police
arrived they discovered that the burglar(s) had broken through a partition wall
into the office and had made off with a safe containing some bank cheques, a
coin box, and cash.

The safe is black/dark grey in
colour, around a foot high, 18 inches wide and about 12 inches deep. It has a
12 digit keypad and a dial latch.

Detective Constable Devon Bailey
asks for anyone in the area at the relevant time to contact him.

“The person or persons responsible
were pretty determined; not only did they break through a partition wall to get
into the office they also removed the safe, which had been bolted to the
floor,” Mr. Bailey said.

“You could be someone who was
either in the area at the time, or who lives in the complex but has not yet
been interviewed in relation to what you heard or saw on that particular
night.”
