A
teenager has been arrested in connection with Butterfield Bank
heist in the Compass Centre Wednesday morning.
Police
said the 17 year old male was arrested during an operation Wednesday night in
the West Bay area on suspicion of robbery.
Three
men wearing Halloween masks and carrying guns walked into the bank just before
11.30am, one fired a shot into the ceiling and ordered everyone to the ground.
The
trio fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No
one was injured in the incident.
Detectives
are now reviewing CCTV footage from the bank.
“We
will, when it is appropriate in terms of the investigative lines of enquiry,
release the footage to the media and the public”, said Detective Sergeant
Richard Scott.
One
of the men was wearing a President Obama mask.
Sergeant
Scott is urging anyone who knows someone who owns one of those masks or
witnesses in the area at the time of the robbery to contact the George Town
police station on 949-

I really hope he will be tried as an adult!!!! I hope the Judge throws the whole file!!! not the book at him. This has to stop NOW and the Governor should come out and address the Public!!!!! Because there are those out here that want to hear from him!!!!!
This arrest is just stage by the Police so that the media don’t kill them with licks as to why they still don’t have armed officers on patrols. I am sure as hell that at this early stage of the investigation, they have not found the culprits. What they did was merely pick up a suspect and lock him down for two weeks probably… and then when all has died down they will release the poor man.

This Commissioner of Police needs to get off his complacent horse and realize that his officers are scared to do their jobs because they are not equipped! That is why in the first place they respond to the scene late! Now… talking about needing more officers as a remedy? What a joke!
I and many others are frustrated! Just the other day, I heard a man was arrested for trying to smuggle guns into the islands to protect himself, because he has no confidence in the Police!
