Charity money stolen

Police are searching for those responsible for breaking into Young
World Fashions and committing a ‘mean theft’.

Donation boxes containing money being
collected for the The Anglin Church, the Missionary for the Poor and a local
child with learning disabilities were stolen.

The Eastern Avenue store was broken into early Monday between 4am and 6.30 am.

Police said  the thieves damaged an outside electrical
breaker box cutting off power before smashing a side window to gain entry.

Three donation boxes containing an
undisclosed amount of cash, several money pouches from the office, and cash in
the register were taken.

The
officer in the case said this was a particularly mean theft stealing charity
donations intended for good causes and local churches and urged people to come
forward with information.

The Police are appealing for any
witnesses or information to contact George Town CID on 949-4222 or Crime
Stoppers on 800-8477
