FC International is one of the most
community-oriented football clubs in Cayman. The side reiterated that point
recently with a free camp at the Lighthouse school.
The camp is nothing new to the
special needs children as FC International has held the camp for the past five
years. This year’s edition was held on a cool, windy Saturday morning for
dozens of Lighthouse students.
Lighthouse school Deputy Principal
Olga Gourzong gave her appreciation to the many people who helped make the camp
“A big thank you first of all to
all the parents who came out to support the students,” Mrs. Gourzong said. “I
thank Mr. Elroy Bryan the PE teacher here at Lighthouse School and all of the
other staff members who made all the arrangements for the camp. Special thanks
go to camp Technical Director Coach Elbert McLean and Ms. Lanie McLaughlin and
volunteers Wesley and Jameal Robinson.”
FC International President Kennedy
Ebanks thanks the club’s many sponsors for allowing the camp to continue.
“We at FC International are all
about spreading the joy of football to all pockets of Cayman society,” Ebanks
said. “That is why we host camps such as this to members of our community who
may not have experience with the beautiful game. I’m pleased that we were able
to once again reach out to the Lighthouse school and I thank all the various
sponsors who helped that become a reality.”
