Students learn to make healthy choices at Kirk’s

Year 2 and 3 classes of East End
Primary School recently visited Kirk Supermarket and Pharmacy to see examples
of various foods and beverages that form part of a healthy diet and learn more
about healthy foods and healthy eating.

The visit was part of their
International Baccalaureate Unit of Inquiry on Keeping Healthy. The programme
promotes students’ understanding through personal and cultural experiences and
encourages them to be reflective and take action based on their new
knowledge.

Teachers Bernadine Mills, Beverley
Williams and Aretha Bush, along with parent Kendall Connor, accompanied the students.  Kirk Supermarket and Pharmacy’s Aliz Almanza
took them on a tour around the supermarket for the informative experience.

Students toured the
produce section and were given samples of fruits and vegetables to share with
their classmates.  They thanked the
management and staff of Kirk Supermarket and Pharmacy for an enjoyable
experience.
