Pastor appointed
to church body

Local pastor Shian O’Connor has been appointed to the executive committee of the General Conference of the worldwide Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The committee, which is the highest body of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, is chaired by Pastor Ted Wilson, president of the General Conference.

Leonard Johnson, president of the new Atlantic Caribbean Union Mission, announced Pastor O’Connor’s appointment at the opening of the 2011 Convention of the Cayman Islands Conference of Seventh Day Adventists at the George Town Church on Friday, 7 January.

Pastor O’Connor said he was humbled and surprised by his appointment, saying this was “a witness to what God can do if we leave our future in His hands”.
