KPMG, Ogier and Consolidated Water Co. Ltd teamed up to collect toys for the Department of Children and Family Services Christmas Toy Drive.
More than CI$1,200 worth of gifts were donated by staff from all three companies, with the focus on youth between the ages of 13 and 17.
Lynda Mitchell at the DCF said, “We receive many donations during the holiday season and we are most grateful, but unfortunately at times we do not get enough age- appropriate gifts for the older children.”
KPMG, Ogier and Consolidated Water Co. Ltd representatives said they were delighted to help fill the void. Donated gifts included vouchers for go-karting, cinema tickets, makeup sets and sports equipment.
KPMG’s Partner, Jenny Frizzelle, introduced the idea of combining efforts with Ogier and Consolidated Water to make more of an impact.
Ms Frizzelle said, “We are delighted to work along with our corporate colleagues to benefit the children of the Cayman Islands … The input from the Department was invaluable in assisting us in focusing on the right age group. Many thanks go out to all who assisted and donated from the three companies.”
Peter Cockhill, managing partner, Ogier, said: “We are delighted to work with KPMG and Consolidated Water to bring some holiday cheer to those less fortunate. We were aware of the amount of support offered to young children so our toy drive was successfully aimed at the teenage market. I am pleased with the response and am confident we can build on this year on year.”
