Fire Pros blazed away Harry’s

The match-of-the-day in the Heineken Sunday League was the game between joint second placed Fire Pros Boca Juniors and Harry’s FC and they produced a fine advert for the Sunday League with both teams creating excellent attacking football.

Harry’s took the lead when Al Glasgow slammed home from a partially cleared corner but Fire Pros pulled level when Mike Ebanks latched onto a long ball for the equaliser. After the interval the winning goal came for Fire Pros from Ebanks again who broke through the offside trap before finding a composed finish from close range.

Old Boys and CML Claymores met in the league for the second week running and after drawing 2-2 last week it was Old Boys who emerged with all the points after grinding out a 2-1 victory.

The match was equally as tight as last week and was not surprising that there was no scoring in the first half. However, after the break Old Boys raced to a 2-0 lead with their first arriving via Brian Hydes. George McKenzie with a diving header at the back post put them 2-0 up. CML pulled one back thanks to a deflected Richard Addison shot from the edge of the box, but that was the end of the scoring and proved to be a vital win for the Old Boys.

In a repeat of another game from last week, International Kickers and AC Lunetta met and as before it was Kickers who emerged triumphant, this time 5-0. Marcos Tinoco was on target once again for Kickers, scoring twice in the first half. After the break Kickers scorers were Rico Brown, Marco Brown and Gavin Dixon.

The remaining game of the weekend was between league leaders Agua FC and MC Devils. Agua kept their top spot in the league with a hard fought 2-0 win over the Devils thanks to goals from Stephan Kormos right on the half-time whistle and an own goal from Devils’ Gallery seven minutes after the break.

These two goals take Agua’s league goal tally to an impressive 50 from only 12 games, an average of over four per game and is one reason why they sit proudly atop of the Heineken Sunday League for another week.
