All Stars can dazzle Unity

The All Stars B netball squad have had a tough start to its season. The side opened up with two straight losses and are hoping to get on a winning streak typical of the club.

All Stars are in action on Thursday 10 February against Unity A at 6.30pm. As usual the netball courts at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex will host the match. The game is part of the Cayman Islands Netball Association Open League (Cayman’s national senior netball competition).

On display for All Stars should be a wealth of young aspiring talent. Names like Martika Williams, Whitney General and newcomer Trishelle Logan steady the side and can take over games at either end.

The side’s youthfulness has worked against them at times. All Stars lost to arch-rival club Roma and its B squad in the season opener and went on to drop a close match to a rejuvenated Maples and Calder side steadied by Christina Gordon. Its lone winning performance came in a victory over Unity B.

For Thursday’s contest the key will be for All Stars to outwit a crafty Unity side. The squad has its fair share of unheralded talent in players like Melissa Morris and with head coach David Wilson’s netball schemes the side can do damage.
