Rotary publishes book
for kids by local author

In an effort to help youngsters build character and to encourage literacy, the Rotary Sunrise Club of Grand Cayman has teamed up with local writer and artist Nasaria Suckoo-Chollette to create a book titled All the Joy in the World.

Ms Suckoo-Chollette will read from the book and sign autographs at Books & Books in Camana Bay from 10.30am on Saturday, 9 April. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to meet and hear the author.

All the Joy in the World, aimed at children up to age 12, has colourful illustrations and depicts a young girl’s efforts to deal with tragedy by following the Rotarian 4-Way Test. This helps the young heroine work through the true meaning of joy by assessing each step of the test.

The book was funded and published by the Rotary Sunrise Club of Grand Cayman to promote literacy and Rotarian values to children. To promote a Caribbean flair, Ms Suckoo-Chollette was chosen to write and illustrate the story. Some of her charming touches include ‘how-to’ activities in the book, such as building a simple kite and making a Yo-Yo pattern quilt.
