Cup action mixed first division teams with premier league teams and the biggest upset came from coach Gillie Seymour’s Cayman Athletic.
Foster’s First Division team Cayman Athletic defeated seasoned Premier league team Roma United 4-2 in the Cayman Islands Football Association FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday at the TE McField Sports Centre Annex.
Scorers for Cayman Athletic were Raheem Robinson in the 9th and 51st minutes, Gary Whittaker in the 36th and Kyle Santamaria sealed it in the 90th.
Kiegel Atkinson and Marlon Dunk netted for Roma in the 13th and 40th minutes respectively.
On Saturday at the same venue North Side defeated Academy 4-1 in the Foster’s League derby.
Derron Golaub netted in the 15th minute, Cadassie Pollard in the 17th, Guiton King in the 22nd and Dwayne Wilson in the 76th. Academy netted the first goal from Yannick Solomon in the 7th minute.
In the other game at the same venue between two Premier League sides, Tigers beat East End 4-2 to take their spot in the semis.
Scorers for Tigers were Zico Lewis in the 4th minute, Lauren Bennett in the 34th and 68th and Jose Bush in the 86th minutes.
Kelly Watler and Triston McField netted for East End in the 7th and 71st minutes.
The game between defending FA Cup champs George Town and Bodden Town was abandoned due to a power outage and has been rescheduled for Wednesday 6 April at 7.30pm at the TE McField Sports Centre.
