Kirk Freeport has Al sparkling

 

Local co-ed softball is about to
start its playoff stages. One of the teams that will look to maintain its
position is team Kirk Freeport.

The reigning A league champions
finished second in the A1 division with a 8-3-1 mark in the 2011 Adult Co-ed
Softball League, put on by the Cayman Islands Little League.

Kirk Freeport, a third seed, were
runners-up to Home Gas (11-1) and A2 division winners KM Ltd (6-5-1). The
bottom five sides are Island Taste Hot Stuff, Post Net Hurricanes, A.L.
Thompson’s Hammers, KPMG A (all four sides are 6-6) and the 2-10 Coors Light
Chuggers.

Team captain and little league
facilities manager Al Lovinggood states Kirk Freeport is ready to keep playing.

“We’re average joes that happen to
be sponsored by Kirk Freeport,” Lovinggood said. “We have our team right in the
thick of things. With a good record we’re aiming to keep having fun.”

Over in the B league the B2
division was won by the BritCay Premiums at 8-3, Deloitte finished second at
8-4, the KPMG Bounty Hunters were 5-6 and Ogiers Bats from Hell were 0-10-2.
The 10-2 Doghouse Glovernauts won the C1 division with Master Batters (6-6),
PWC B (5-6-1), Maples Sluggers (2-8-2) and A.L. Thompson Drills (2-9-1)
thereafter.

In the C league, the C1 division
one winner would be the 11-1 Billy Bones Jager Bombers. HSBC (8-4),
Electractech Pure Energy (5-7) and the PWC Scorpions (1-11) were runners-up.
Greenlight (7-4) won the C2 division followed by the Royals (6-6), Harbour
House Marina Whalers (5-7) and The Security Centre (5-7).
