Jorel greeted by Cydonie

Jorel Bellafonte came home to a hero’s welcome after being the only Caymanian to win a medal at the CARIFTA Games in Jamaica over the
Easter weekend.

Bellafonte, 16, won silver in the 1500 metres boys 15-17 and looked set to medal in the 800m but was tripped 10 metres from the line and was disqualified. He was pleased to see track queen Cydonie Mothersill at the Owen Roberts International Airport to greet him.

The teenager studies in Jamaica and showed his potential by beating the top Jamaicans in the two events in their national trials a few weeks ago.

Jorel appreciated Cydonie coming out to meet him at the airport.
