The State Opening and Budget Meeting of the Cayman Islands Legislative Assembly has been pushed back to the end of the week.
Initially, lawmakers had hoped to meet on Tuesday, 17 May, but the opening has been delayed to Friday, 20 May, in order to allow the government to finalise budget preparations.
Typically, the opening session includes the Throne Speech delivered by the governor. It is also the first look the public gets at the new year’s budget proposed by the Premier and Minister of Finance McKeeva Bush.
Start time for Friday’s opening meeting is 9.35am.
