After a number of delays youth flag football is finally honouring its participants.
The annual awards ceremony and party for The Security Center Youth Flag Football League is taking place this Saturday 21 May. The Brick House will once again host the gathering. The awards ceremony was originally slated for early May but was postponed due to Batabano and the recent holiday weekend.
League organizer Kyle Broadhurst states he is pleased with this season (which marks the third year of youth flag football) and spoke about next year’s plans.
“I would like to thank all the sponsors for making the league possible and also thank Le Bleu for donating water to the league,” Broadhurst said. “We will be having a party at the Brick House to celebrate the season this Saturday at 11:30am. We will have prizes for the players, gifts for the sponsors and will have free food and drink for everybody. We invite all of the players and sponsors to come join us for the party.
“Looking forward to next year, we are planning on having an open meeting to all persons interested in becoming involved with the league. We expect to have continued growth next year and we really need additional volunteers to help with all aspects of the league. I will announce the date and location of that meeting as soon as it is determined.”
