Dan Davar Kelly, 19, and Derrick Lloyd Simpson, 18, have had charges against them transmitted to the Grand Court, where they were directed to attend on Friday, 10 June.
The two, both of whom have West Bay addresses, appeared in Summary Court on Tuesday. They are accused of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to commit a robbery and then robbery — stealing cash from a cash register and using force against a sales clerk in order to do so. The amount of cash was not stated in the charge.
Both charges arise from an incident at Caribbean Bakery in West Bay on Wednesday, 29 September, 2010.
A recent amendment to the Criminal Procedure Code requires that offences triable only in Grand Court be sent there forthwith, so there was no need for a preliminary inquiry to be set. Both defendants were on bail, so no details were aired in a bail application.
